EVALUATION OFFICER POSITION

Indigenous Employment Project


United Way East Ontario is hiring an Evaluations Officer to join our team for a short-term contract. This remote position is a contract of $3000 + HST, to be performed at an agreed upon schedule for work to be completed by July 31, 2022.

Tasks and Responsibilities: United Way East Ontario has been funded through and Ontario Labour Ministry Partnership (OLMP) to complete a project titled: Indigenous Employment Project. 


The project has included research deliverables to better understand the labour market issues faced by Indigenous youth in East Ontario, as well as community engagement to build stronger relationships between the Indigenous community, employment service providers, employers and post-secondary and other stakeholders to work on the issues.


As part of the project deliverables, we are required to complete an evaluation as laid out in the OLMP Guidelines Section 9 (page 24, 


http://www.tcu.gov.on.ca/eng/eopg/publications/olmp_guidelines_2014_15.pdf). The incumbent will gather information from project contributors based on the questions in the OLMP guidelines and use them to create a report to be shared back to our funder.


The Evaluations Officer, will be responsible for some or all the following:

  • Identify project collaborators to engage in providing feedback.

  • Use a variety of communication tools including email, phone, online conferencing tools to complete outreach with project collaborators.

  • Record feedback and aggregate answers in a written report format.

  • Leverage project leads to review ongoing work and seek feedback on evaluation process.

  • Finalize project feedback report to provide to the funder.

Qualifications:

  • University or college partial-completion or full degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, Business, Social Services/Sciences or related area

  • Experience in writing reports through work or school

  • Experience gathering data and presenting it in written format is an asset

Skills:

  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong judgment, discretion and critical thinking skills that align with the objectives of United Way East Ontario.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex information to easy-to-understand content.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.

  • Excellent project and time management skills leading to an ability to balance and manage competing interests.

  • Experience with editing, proofreading and fact-checking.

  • Writing, editing in a variety of formats.

  • Flexibility, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity.

  • Strong listening skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work in a remote environment and leverage a variety of tools to communicate effectively with others such as email, telephone, online-web meeting software
